Adelaida V. Severson, Ph.D., is President and Owner of Highschoolstreams.com. She founded Highschoolstreams.com with Anthony Troggio in 2013 as a way to support the goals and vision of future communications industrialists.
In addition to Highschoolstreams.com, Dr. Severson serves as President and CEO of Bushtex, Inc, which she founded with her husband Barry in 1994 as a satellite communications firm specializing in remote broadcast transmissions worldwide.
Severson’s diverse background includes public relations, broadcast journalism, marketing, events management, philanthropy, and satellite communications. Additionally, she teaches courses on International Communications at the university and corporate levels. She has over 20 years of experience in the journalism and broadcast satellite production industries.
Severson started her career as a journalist and reporter, and eventually fell into the satellite broadcast industry while working in Los Angeles, managing satellite newsgathering logistics, both domestically and internationally. Most notable events were the Winter and Summer Olympics, NFL Super Bowls, Presidential Elections, and Pay-Per-View entertainment events. Severson has traveled extensively internationally to consult on communications strategies.
Severson, who was born and raised in Hawaii, graduated with a B.A. in Journalism and International Relations from the University of Southern California and received a Masters of Mass Communication and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Arizona State University. Severson has three boys, which includes a set of twins.
Her community involvement includes serving as a trustee for Arizona State University; ASU AzTE Board of Directors, ASU Walter Cronkite National Advisory Board; Chair of the Gilbert Historical Museum Capital Campaign; Gilbert Leadership Board (graduated from Class XIII); former Governing Board of the Gilbert Public School District; Board of Trustees for the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture; Co-chair, of Charity Development and Appeal (CDA) for the Diocese of Phoenix; and Finance Council of St. Anne Catholic Parish.
